CHAIRPERSON
New club volunteer vacancy
Chairperson Wanted
Following 8 years of service from our current Chairperson, Headley Youth FC is looking for a dedicated volunteer to step into this important role and help lead the club into its next chapter.
About the role
This is a key position at the heart of the club, ensuring local children can continue to enjoy football in a safe, positive, and well-run environment. As an essential club role, FA guidance requires clubs to have these key officials in place to maintain standard operations.
-
Time Commitment: The role typically requires an average of 2 hours per week.
-
Team Support: You won't be doing everything on your own; you will be supported by others at the club as you provide leadership and direction.
-
Suitability: This may suit a parent, supporter, manager, coach, or local community member who cares about grassroots football and wants to make a difference.
What you will do
-
Helping oversee the running and general direction of the club.
-
Supporting the committee and the wider volunteer team.
-
Chairing meetings and facilitating key decision-making processes.
-
Acting in the best interests of the players, the teams, and the club as a whole.
-
Encouraging a positive, inclusive, and community-focused culture.
-
Ensuring the club meets FA safeguarding and welfare standards.
-
Ensuring the club operates in line with FA rules and the club constitution to maintain affiliation.
-
Acting as the main representative of the club with the County FA, leagues, sponsors, and the local community.
Who we are looking for
-
Someone reliable, approachable, and organized.
-
A good communicator.
-
Someone who truly cares about youth football and the local community.
-
A team player who can help bring people together.
Note: You do not need to have held this role before. Commitment, common sense, and a willingness to support the club are what matter most.
Why join us?
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a club that supports many local children and families. Beyond the personal satisfaction, the role offers:
-
The chance to develop your communication and leadership skills.
-
The opportunity to leave a positive legacy for the next generation of young players.
-
One free space at the club for your child.
Note: This is a volunteer position ideal for someone looking to give back to local football and support the development of Headley Youth FC.
