About Headley Youth FC

Headley Youth Football has been established for over forty years.

The club provides inclusive football for all ages from Under 6 to Under 18. Currently 18 teams play competitive local league football and membership totals about 220, but new members are always welcome at any point in the year and we believe that Headley Youth FC provides the best value football in the area.

We are very lucky to have use of the excellent location at Headley Playing Fields. All our visitors comment on how good our five pitches and other facilities are, even in the depths of winter. We very rarely have to call games off at Headley.

In addition to weekly supervised training sessions, under our own floodlights when necessary, and league fixtures every weekend during the season for all but the youngest year groups, specialist goalkeeper training by our own expert coach is provided every week and coaching for ages 6 and under plus holiday football schools are offered by a specialist football coaching organisation, CM Sports. A new skills development session is being run by them and is open to members and non-members outside school holidays from 10.00 to 11.00 on Saturdays. This has proved a very popular addition to the regular weekly team coaching.

All our coaches and managers have the qualifications and background checks required by The Football Association (FA) for Headley Youth FC to be classed as a FA Charter Standard Community Club. This is particularly important in the light of recent revelations surrounding youth football. The Child Welfare Officer is one of the most important members of the club’s management and ensures our FA compliance and procedures are up to date at all times.

The last few seasons have proved very successful for Headley Youth FC. Our teams compete in the North East Hants Youth League and we have at least one or two teams in contention for or winning league honours every season. We also enjoy repeated success in the local season ending tournaments in the area; not bad going for a ‘village’ club!

In addition, there is the annual HYFEST music festival that takes place at the playing fields. With a mix of over a dozen local bands, food, drink, market stalls and amusements, this has proved a great family day out. Seven years down the line, we hope that HYFEST 2018 in June will be our best yet and provide much needed funds for the club to continue to provide the best facilities possible for its members. Tickets will be on sale in the new year.
